New vocabulary

It is very important when learning a new language in another country that you pick up the important words. Here are my new vocab words for the week:

razón de disparidad = odds ratio (epidemiology term).

Valor de P = p value (also epi and biostats term)

pretender = to try, to expect, to attempt

Madrugar = to get up early (madruga is also a noun meaning 'dawn')

Anocher = To go to bed really late (noche is a noun meaning 'night')

Charro = Funny

Bacano = Cool

Mañe= out of style (ex: esa camisa es muy mañe)

Sardinas = sardines or young girls (this term is only used by old people)

Grilla = A girl who dresses with everything hanging out—slutty

Saltamontes = Worse than a ‘grilla’

Prepago = Something in between a gold digger and an escort…
